I picked the theme natural world for my end of year project. I picked this because it involves photoshop and I enjoy working with photoshop. Also it would be something different as I haven't explored anything similar to this topic yet.
karl blossfeldt
The first picture is what Karl Blossfeldt took and the second is one I took like it, I was on holiday and I saw this table in a cafe that I went to, then I was looking about and the bottom of the table had this spiral shape to it which reminded me of his work, therefore I took this image as my homework which was to take a picture like Karl Blossfeldt.
He was a German sculptor and he made things like these. He was born on June 13 1865 and died on December 9 1932. He was a photographer, sculptor, teacher and artist. He was famous for close-up photographs of plants and living things.

Michael Kenna
Michael Kenna is a famous photographer that takes landscape photos of nature, he converts all his photos in to black and white. He was born in Widnes, England in 1953. He attended The London College of Printing and began working as a photographer and artist. The way he takes photos inspires me. I am starting my natural world page by taking it easy and taking pictures with colours, then once I know what I am doing well I am going to start taking pictures like Michael Kenna. This is because his photos are satisfying to me and I would like my work to be more like his.
the NATURAL world
rinko kawavchi 2007
In this photo I see a clear raindrop perfectly placed in the middle of a leaf. I would use the word 'natural' to describe this, not because it is the theme but nothing has been edited or changed about the picture. To someone who could not see the image, I would describe it as a dark green leaf in the centre of the photo, quite zoomed in and a raindrop on the middle of the leaf, focused while the edge of the leaf and the background is blurred out.
The photo reminds me of a flower as the leaf is a curvy shape like petals of a flower and the raindrop represents the middle part of the flower (the pollen). This image is natrualistic but if you look at the bottom right corner of the photo it could be seen as abstract as I can't tell where the photo has been taken and you can't see what is in the background of this photo which makes it difficult to see if the photo has been taken inside or outside. There are detailed lines going from the raindrop through the leaf to reach the edge of the leaf, the lines itself create more lines which leaves a cracked pattern. I use the word cracked because it reminds me of a cracked phone where the glass created even more little cracks from the big crack. Also these lines tell us what sort of texture the leaf is in. It looks like a smooth/ soft touch and the lines are bumpy as they pop out and are three dimentional (3D). The leaf is a dark green color with darker shades of green at the edge of the leaf, the raindrop is see through with a tint of white at the bottom. Also there is a reflection of another leaf which you can see through the raindrop.

Pictures I took on holiday France / Mexico
These photos I have taken on holiday are related to the natural world theme. I wish I took more time on holiday to take more pictures as where I went had a lot of tropical forests around the area. Also at that time I wasn't sure how I should take photos. I took many photos that didn't relate to natural world so I removed them and kept the ones that did.
photograms
More Photograms made with leaves and plants.
For these phototypes I wanted to leave a effect on the paper which was the water that had dried without cleaning it or making it all neat. I put each paper in each product for 30 seconds each so the leaf could turn out see through and not white.
Constructed Landscapes / dafna talmor
In school we had a 3 hour workshop with a photographer that came in and taught us about constructed landscapes. She makes these by getting old photos and taking it out the glass to mess around with it for example she cuts up the photo and re arranges them in different orders also she puts paint on the top of them which gives out a nice effect. the tools that she uses are scalpels to cut them up, either ink or tipex or nail polish over the photo and sometimes coloured tape to have like a basic colour at the back. she was inspired and has similar work to Gustave Le Gray. Here are some of Gustaves work:
Here are some of my photos that I made.
In the first photo with the pink dots I used pink ink and in the corner I cut the photo, as it was my first go I just messed around with it and see what I could do with it. In the second one I had an idea of what I wanted to do so I cut it up and added blue ink at the top the over the people I put red ink. The red ink was too highlight the people and I thought it would go well with the photo. In the last photo I edited I just cut out the person and put a tiny bit of yellow tape in the corner. I am happy with these three pieces of work because they turned out to something I liked. The process of doing this was fun and enjoyable and I would love to do it again.
In these photos I took, I saw parts in the wall where plants grew in unlikely urban settings.
These are two pictures I made with photoshop. I made them by getting two pictures that I took, com-binding the two that goes best together and merging one photo onto the other. Then I played around with the colours/ effects and they came out with something I really liked. Both of my photos contain my photograms that I made in class. Under the pictures are the pictures that I used to mix them together.
More edits for my final piece
final piece
For my final piece I decided to take pictures of man-made things and natural things and combined them together using photoshop. I played around with photoshop for a while and after messing about with the colours, I managed to make create something that I liked.
